It has been nearly 10 years since I graduated from the Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the skills I learned in school regarding Spanish are still priceless in my profession.

I reported at news stations for 7 years around the country and used my Spanish at each location. After news I worked for a soccer club as the Community Relations Manager where Spanish was engrained in the culture. Now I work for the County of San Diego as a Communications Officer and most recently used my Spanish to help orient hundreds of migrants who were dropped off at our southern border.

Spanish has been invaluable to communicate and support my community and put me ahead as a job candidate. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities this program has provided me in my career.
