Military studies and veterans studies are emerging academic fields that enable students to deepen their understanding of service by exploring multidisciplinary aspects of military service and its implications for veterans and society. Graduates of this program will develop transferable skills for jobs in military- and veteran-serving industries, public and government service, and in community organizations. Acquiring this military bachelor’s degree can also enable active servicemembers to be promoted past levels E4-E5.
The flexible on-campus or online bachelor’s degree in applied military and veterans studies is designed to prepare you for a job in public leadership, service, and policy; leadership in military and veterans organizations; and veteran history among other postmilitary or military career paths.
Graduates in this growing sector will develop the skillsets to impact local and international agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense or the Bureau of Veterans Affairs; state-level government sectors; and nonprofit organizations serving military and veteran populations among other fields.

No, we welcome active duty, National Guard, Reserves and veterans, as well as others in various professions and of various backgrounds.
This program can prepare students who wish to have a career in the military but enrollment in the degree course doesn’t formally enroll the student in the military.
Some are and some aren't. Our civilian faculty have worked closely with the military and many of our faculty are national leaders in their fields.
