ASU/USNCC Partnership student resources

Overview

The ASU/USNCC Partnership serves active duty military in the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, who are pursuing associates degrees in Military Studies, Organizational Leadership, and Logistics (Maritime). Students work closely with an ASU academic advisor, ASU Online Academic Success Coach and U.S. Naval Community College personnel who engage, support, and guide student progress towards graduation.

Arizona State University is home to a number of colleges and schools. The Military Studies AA and Organizational Leadership AA are affiliated with College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA), while the Logistics (Maritime) AS degree is affiliated with the W.P. Carey School of Business. Academic advising for ASU/USNCC Partnership students in all majors is centralized through the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA).

If you were recently admitted to ASU, it will take approximately 7 - 10 business days to matriculate through our system. Once you have matriculated, you will receive an email from computer.accounts@asu.edu with a request to activate your ASURITE ID and Password, as well as your ASU Email account.

Your ASURITE ID and Password will allow you to access ASU systems, including registration, enrollment and your online classes. All official ASU communications will be sent through your ASU email address.

If you have not already done so, send your official Joint Service Transcript (JST) and any official transcripts for completed course work taken at other universities or community colleges to transcripts@asu.edu.

Complete the ASU/USNCC Partnership Workshop

Once you have activated your ASURITE ID and Password, all new ASU/USNCC Partnership students must complete the ASU/USNCC New Student Workshop. This online self-paced workshop will provide the following information:

Overview of your new degree program
How to enroll and access your online classes
ASU/USNCC policies
ASU Online resources, navigation tools, and expectations

Enrolling in classes

You will be self-enrolling in your first ASU courses. ASU is a semester school, with classes offered in fall, spring, and summer. Each semester is divided into session A and session B.

Note: ASU/USNCC Students have access to enroll in sessions A & B for fall and spring, but are limited to session A enrollment for summer.

Students enrolled in the ASU/USNCC partnership are limited to 1 class per session with a maximum of 5 classes per year. All new ASU/USNCC Partnership students must enroll in ASU 101-CLS and a major specific course for their first session.

As you progress through your degree program, we strongly encouraging you to connect with your ASU academic advisor at least once a semester by appointment or email, to ensure you are on track and making progress towards degree completion.

Updated Information related to your program, accessing your courses, books, and contact information for ASU and USNCC advising are always available in the ASU/USNCC Partnership Workshop.

If you have completed the workshop, you can access specific information needed from the module link in the workshop menu. If you have not completed the workshop, it is strongly recommended that it be completed as soon as possible.

During your appointment, your advisor will review your academic progress, provide course recommendations, and address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your degree or the ASU/USNCC partnership program.

FAQ topics

Two Factor Authentication

ASU uses two-factor authentication to protect you and your data from cyber security threats. This is accomplished through a login process with a simple step to verify your identity -- using a tool called Duo. Access to all ASU systems will require Duo. It is important to follow the instructions on the set up page, when first accessing Duo.

For most common questions, issues, and problems, you can reference the instructions in Get Help . If you are still unable to enroll, please contact us by phone, email or live chat.

Note: If you are on assignment in a remote location for an extended period of time and will have internet access issues, you are strongly encouraged to reach out to your Success Coach or Academic Advisor to discuss options.

Books

All USNCC Partnership students will have books covered for one course per session, for the maximum of five classes per year. Students should be enrolled in ASU courses no less than 20 days prior to the start of a session.

ASU must receive the USNCC eligibility report, stating you are eligible to enroll in an upcoming ASU class to release your book stipend. Typically, this report is received 10 - 14 days prior to the start of a session and at the time you will receive an email notification with a link to the ASU Bookstore and instructions on how to apply your stipend to your book fees.

Drop/Withdrawal

Students may drop and add classes through the first two days of each session. Students attempting a drop after this time, will earn a withdrawal grade of W. The 100% tuition refund deadline is generally through the seventh day of the session, but it is important to verify the date on the academic calendar.

If you need to withdraw, it is critical that you first contact your academic advisor prior to withdrawal for appropriate next steps.

Organizational Leadership AA and
Military Studies AA

The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) is one of 3 liberal arts colleges at Arizona State University. CISA offers 31 degree programs in a broad range of areas that include majors as varied as Technical Communication and Applied Biological Sciences, as well as the AA degrees in Military Studies and Organizational Leadership. The focus of CISA is on applied and experiential learning, which will be an important part of your student journey. There are approximately 7500 undergraduates and 500 graduate students in CISA, with 67% of students in online degree programs.
