Requirements


Description
The nutrition and healthy living concentration will provide a strong knowledge base in nutrition and healthy diet planning.

 This concentration does not meet the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) requirements, and thus does not qualify a student to apply for a Dietetic Internship.

 Requirements

  • Students must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours including 12 of upper division hours for this concentration.
  • All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” (2.00) or higher.

NTR 100 Introductory Nutrition Science OR NTR 241 Human Nutrition 

NTR 345 Development of Healthy Cuisines 

NTR 450 Nutrition in the Life Cycle OR HSC 355 Eating for Lifelong Health

Upper Division Electives (Select Three) -- 9 credit hours

HEP 380 Body Image and Wellness

NTR 320 History of Human Nutrition 

NTR 348 Cultural Aspects of Food 

NTR 350 Nutrition Counseling 

NTR 351 Nutrition Communication 

NTR 353 The Western Diet

NTR 448 Community Nutrition

NTR 453 Nutrition and the Media 

NTR 457 Sports Nutrition 

NTR 480 Integrative and Functional Nutrition

Prerequisite courses may be needed in order to complete the requirements of this minor.
