Description:
This internship provides undergraduate students with practical experience in applying their Spanish skills in professional fields such as healthcare, education, law, media and social services.

Eligibility:

  • Open to undergraduate students with advanced Spanish proficiency.
  • Students must be enrolled in SPA 484 internship for credit course, and the Spanish for the Professions Certificate. (This internship is not limited to Spanish majors or minors.)
  • Applicants must have completed 12 hours in the certificate program to be eligible for this internship course. 
  • Students must seek instructor approval before enrolling for this course.
  • This internship course offers 3 credits.
  • Available during the fall and spring C Session.
  • Those who are not enrolled in the certificate but would like to experience this internship can contact the instructor.

Hours:
Interns complete 135 hours at approved community sites in Phoenix, developing real-world communication skills with Spanish-speaking clients and enhancing cross-cultural competence.
