Organizational Leadership*
Requirements
Description
The concentration in organizational leadership uses interdisciplinary methods that prepare students to become leaders in organizations. Students develop skills and knowledge that leaders need to solve problems, communicate effectively, assess programs, manage resources, and use emerging technologies in organizations. Students in the concentration will be prepared for a range of positions in government, health care administration, nonprofit agencies and the service industry.
Requirements
- Students must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours including 12 of upper division hours for this concentration.
- All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” (2.00) or higher.
- Any topic can be utilized within the OGL 340 and OGL 365 courses. Students may enroll in up to 15 credit hours of OGL 340 or OGL 365 topics courses to meet the requirements of the minor. Topics cannot be repeated.
Core 9 Hours Required
OGL 340 is taken two times with two separate topics.
OGL 200 Introduction to Organizational Leadership
OGL 340 Organizational Skills (3) (students will enroll in two different topics to equal the required 6 hours) (Prerequisite(s): minimum 45 hours)

OGL 343 Social Processes in Organizations (3), SB (Prerequisite(s): minimum junior standing or minimum 56 hours)

OGL 357 Assessment in Organizations (3) (Prerequisite(s): minimum junior standing or minimum 56 hours)
OGL 360 Assessment of Leadership Effectiveness (3), SB (Prerequisite(s): minimum 56 hours)
OGL 350 Diversity and Organizations, L & C (3) (Prerequisite(s): ENG 102 or 105 or 108 with C or better; minimum 56 hours. Credit is allowed for only BIS 350 or OGL 350)
OGL 355 Leading Organizational Innovation and Change (3) (Prerequisite(s): minimum 56 hours)

OGL 484 Internship (1-12) Notes: No more than 3 credit hours of internship may be applied to this concentration.
