Doctor Dental Surgery (DDS)
Arizona Dental Health, Mesa
2014, BA in History
“I went to ASU knowing I wanted to pursue a career in dentistry and decided to major in history," said College of Integrative Sciences and Arts alumnus Brad Pico. "I’ve always been fascinated with history and knew that majoring in the humanities would also help me become well-rounded and set me apart from other dental school applicants.
"Each semester I took a mix of history and science courses. I was always much more comfortable in a science class than a history class, which in itself was a benefit. It forced me to leave my comfort zone and challenged me as a student."
Brad pursued his dream of earning a DDS deree at the University of Colorado Denver School of Dental Medicine. He then pursued more advanced training through a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency to gain additional skills — in oral surgery, implant placement and restorations, bone augmentation, fixed and removable prosthodontics, and endodontics.
Today Brad practices in Mesa, Ariz., in a family dental practice, Arizona Dental Health.
