Requirements

How do firms that aren't large corporations or the next Google or Amazon obtain financing to grow? Gain insight into the less visible but extremely important private credit and leasing markets, and learn the analytical and people skills needed to help firms of all sizes accomplish their goals.

According to the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association, the U.S. equipment finance industry exceeds one trillion dollars, with nearly 80% of businesses using loans, leases or lines of credit to finance equipment and software purchases. Of the two trillion dollars in total value of purchases from American businesses, nonprofits and government agencies, an estimated 57.3% is financed. The unsecured commercial lending market is large as well, estimated at $4.3 trillion globally in 2021. https://www.alliedmarketresearch.com/unsecured-business-loans-market-A15157

The concentration in essentials of credit and leasing equips students with an understanding of the decision-making criteria for the provision of credit and other nonequity financing, as well as develops marketing skills necessary for success in the credit and leasing industry. Through coursework, students develop a strong foundation in theory to enable critical thinking and problem-solving for financing challenges facing modern businesses, particularly in the small- to medium-enterprise segment.

Students who intend to become business owners can benefit from the course of study since it enhances familiarity with ways to secure finance necessary for growth..
