Applied Biological Sciences
Requirements
Description
Experience hands-on science in this concentration based at ASU's Polytechnic campus, a living laboratory for applied biology. This program is a great complement to many majors, especially if you're pursuing pre-med, pre-dental, pre-veterinary or other professional programs related to health.
The concentration in applied biological sciences is a rigorous and practical program that can help students understand the interrelationships among evolution, natural history, and the conservation of plants and animals.
Consistent with a polytechnic vision, this program involves extensive student interaction with faculty through experience-based learning activities, including:
- faculty-guided research
- field trips
- internships
- laboratories
- service learning projects
Mastery of fundamental biological principles is emphasized through quality learning in the classroom, as well as hands-on activities in laboratories and outdoor settings that include the Sonoran Desert, surrounding ecosystems, and the landscape of the greater Phoenix area.
