Requirements

Description

See your current field of study through a new lens. By becoming adept with specific data science skills, you can make informed decisions about the world around you.

A concentration in data science provides students with skills in statistics, probability and coding in the context of large data sets. Students in this minor become useful consumers and producers of data. They understand and manipulate data sets to make conclusions and recommendations that can have an impact in real world settings.

Requirements

  • Students must complete a minimum of 25 credit hours and at least 6 upper division hours taken with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
  •  A grade of C (2.00 on a 4.00 scale) or higher is required for all courses used toward the concentration.
  • Incompatible concentrations: Mathematical Concepts of Engineering, Computational Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics
  • Additional prerequisites to required courses - MAT 267 or MAT 272 > STP 421 OR ACT 415 (ACT 201 with "B" or better required)
