The Construction Management concentration will be comprised of course work in construction management processes incorporating the technology and industry practices required to ensure a quality-built environment. Due to industry demands for increased numbers of skilled personnel, this concentration will provide much needed supplementary knowledge for architects, engineers and business majors as well as students who study sustainability.

Requirements:

Students must complete a minimum of 21 credit hours including 12 of upper division hours.
Minimum 12 hours ASU courses (in residence or online) required
All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” (2.00) or higher.
MAT 170 or higher math required as prerequisite to course(s) in this concentration

CON 244 Working Drawing Analysis (3)

CON 251 Microcomputer Applications for Construction (3) (Prerequisite(s): MAT 170 or higher with C or better)

CON 252 Building Construction Methods, Materials, and Equipment (3)

CON 383 Construction Estimating (3) (Prerequisite(s): CON 243 or 252; Credit is allowed for only CNE 383 or CON 383)

CON 453 Construction Technology (3) (Prerequisite: CON 251 OR Construction Engnr major; senior standing; Credit is for only CNE 453 or CON 453)

CON 495 Construction Planning and Scheduling (CS) (3) (Prerequisite(s): CNE 383 or CON 383; Credit is allowed for only CNE 495 or CON 495)

CON 496 Construction Contract Administration (L) (3) (Prerequisite(s): CNE 453 or CON 453; Credit is allowed for only CNE 496 or CON 496)

IDS Core Course Information

All Interdisciplinary Studies students are required to complete a 9 credit-hour core and 9 credit hours of context/application courses.

Required Courses (9 credit hours):

IDS 201 Intellectual Fusion (recommended for freshman/sophomore students)
- Prerequisites: None

IDS 301 Becoming Interdisciplinary (3) (recommended for transfer students and/or students declaring IDS in their junior or senior year)
- Prerequisites: Interdisciplinary Studies major
IDS 302 Integration Skills (3)
- Prerequisite(s): Interdisciplinary Studies major; IDS 201 or 301 with C or better
IDS 401 Integration: Experiential Learning (3) (requires application)
- Prerequisites: IDS 201 or 301 with C or better; IDS 302 with C or better; minimum 2.00 GPA; minimum of two courses completed in each concentration area

Context courses (6 credit hours)
