Klarissa Parker

Ambassador since:
August 2024

Major:
Organizational Leadership (Project Management), BA

Experience:
As a non-traditional transfer student with over five years of dedicated service experience, I have a strong commitment to helping others. One of my most rewarding roles was serving as a Step Coach for youth ages 5-15 at a nonprofit community center in Lexington, KY, before relocating. I have been recognized for my academic achievements and leadership roles across various domains, including school, pageantry, and student organizations such as Student Ambassadors, National Honor Society, DECA Secretary, and Captain of the HCHS Step Team. These experiences have fueled my passion for community involvement, advocating for meaningful change, and enhancing the representation of women of color in prominent roles.

Future plans:
I aspire to become a Nonprofit Manager and Venture Capitalist, with a focus on empowering underserved communities and creating opportunities for those facing challenging circumstances. As a minority woman, I am acutely aware of the disproportionate challenges faced by minority youth and families. My goal is to drive change through increased mentorship, access to opportunities, education, financial literacy, and holistic wellness. By fostering these elements, I aim to contribute to positive advancement and make a lasting impact on society, following in the footsteps of influential historical figures who have driven meaningful progress.
