Description

Complementing your studies with valuable knowledge of contemporary social issues will help you understand social change, as well as the social causes and consequences of human behavior.

A concentration in sociology from the Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics provides an exceptional balance to studies in psychology, communication, education, business and nursing through basic coursework that explores social institutions and issues related to social change and social behavior.

Requirements

  • Students must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours including 12 of upper division hours for this concentration.
  • All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” (2.00) or higher.
  • Minimum 6 upper division hours must be taken in courses offered with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
  • M - Course transfer equivalent available from Maricopa County Community College District, details are provided on the Transfer Information tab.

SOC 101 Fundamentals of Sociology M (Required) 

SOC 2** Elective

Electives - 12 credit hours, with at least 9 hours of upper division hours to meet the Sociology 12 upper division hour requirement
Select in consultation with an advisor.

Any SOC 100, 200, 300 or 400 level class

A maximum of 3 credits of SOC 399, SOC 484, SOC 492, SOC 493, and SOC 499 may apply.
