Requirements

Description
The digital audiences concentration is a communication-based program in which students are taught how to identify, find, engage, measure and grow audiences in the digital space via social media platforms and SEO.

Requirements

Students must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours including 12 of upper division hours for this concentration.
All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” (2.00) or higher.
Students must be at the sophomore level (25 credits) in order to take upper-division courses.
MCO 307 is a required prerequisite for required Core courses.
Students who have previously completed MCO 437 should consult their academic advisor prior to enrolling in further Core course requirements.

MCO 307 The Digital Audience (3) (Minimum cumulative 2.00 GPA)

MCO 433 Social Media Campaigns, Engagement and Research (3)* (Prerequisite(s): MCO 307 w/ C or better; minimum 2.00 GPA; Credit is allowed for only MCO 433, MCO 436, MCO 437 or MCO 563 OR Visiting University Student)

MCO 434 Search Engine Research and Strategy (3)* (Prerequisite(s): MCO 307 with C or better; minimum 2.00 GPA; Credit is allowed for only MCO 434 or MCO 436 or MCO 437 or MCO 562 OR Visiting University Student)

MCO 438 Digital Audience Analysis (3) (Prerequisite(s): MCO 307 with C or better; minimum 2.00 GPA Credit is allowed for only MCO 438 or MCO 565 OR Visiting University Student)

IDS Core Course Information

All Interdisciplinary Studies students are required to complete a 9 credit-hour core and 9 credit hours of context/application courses.

IDS 201 Intellectual Fusion (recommended for freshman/sophomore students)
- Prerequisites: None

IDS 301 Becoming Interdisciplinary (3) (recommended for transfer students and/or students declaring IDS in their junior or senior year)
- Prerequisites: Interdisciplinary Studies major
IDS 302 Integration Skills (3)
- Prerequisite(s): Interdisciplinary Studies major; IDS 201 or 301 with C or better
IDS 401 Integration: Experiential Learning (3) (requires application)
- Prerequisites: IDS 201 or 301 with C or better; IDS 302 with C or better; minimum 2.00 GPA; minimum of two courses completed in each concentration area
