ASU’s is partnering again with Tempe Public Library to host the second annual Tempe Community Writing and Cover Design Contest.
Writers may submit one selection of their work, choosing either the genre of poetry, fiction or nonfiction (e.g. essay, memoir, literary journalism). The competition is open to all Tempe residents, Tempe Library cardholders, and all ASU students.
Designers may submit one design for the color cover of the resulting publication.
For design specifications and further details about the Writing and Design Contest, see the Tempe Public Library website or the PDF files downloadable below.
Entries for both portions of the contest will be accepted online between January 11, 2016, and February 15, 2016. Submissions will be judged anonymously within three categories: high school student, college student (undergraduate or graduate), and community adult. One winner from each entry category will be chosen for each genre.
The Tempe Community Writing Contest winners will be announced in the spring and celebrated at a reception at Tempe Public Library on April 13, 2016. Winning entries will also be published in volume two of "The Tempe Writer's Forum" and on the library’s website. Additional information and contest details can be found at the Tempe Public Library website.
