Documentary screening: From Shock to Awe
Join ASU's Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement for a screening and discussion of the film From Shock to Awe: A Journey of Hope and Transformation. The producer of the documentary, Janine Sagert, will participate in the introduction of the webinar, then we will do the screening via Zoom. The documentary will be available for all ASU students, faculty and staff through ASU Library.
The film looks at two combat veterans suffering from severe trauma who abandon pharmaceuticals to seek relief from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and some of the recent research and clinical trials on the use of psychotherapy and psychedelic-assisted therapy (such as cannabis and ayahuasca) to heal from trauma and other life-threatening mental health issues.
