Biography

Since 2015, Matthew Rodgers has been an instructor in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts. Before his time at Arizona State University, Rodgers had a variety of academic and organizational experiences. This included seven years of teaching experience for the Maricopa Community Colleges, where he helped implement online programs and taught courses such in the fields of English, humanities, and film.

Rodgers is a humanities and comparative literature scholar whose work covers topics such as Latin American literature, postmodernism, film and media, and semiotics. In this capacity, he currently teaches interdisciplinary studies, big history, organizational leadership, and special topics such as the courses Design through Meaning and Digital Citizenship.

He currently also serves as a fellow for the Center for Film, Media, and Popular Culture at ASU, and has presented on topics such as contemporary Westerns in American cinema and movie poster design.
