Words on Wheels: Family History Writing

Presented by:  Duane Roen, Ph.D. - Vice Provost, Polytechnic campus and Dean, College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, Arizona State University

Family History Writing provides an opportunity to develop tools for writing about memorable family members, places or events. Roen discusses the family experiences that offer rich material for writing and shares strategies for beginning the writing process.

Through a hands-on activity, you will respond in writing to a series of questions designed to generate concrete details about family stories and be invited to share your writing with the group. In turn, the group will be encouraged to offer constructive feedback that will help you further develop your writing.

You are encouraged to bring your laptop. Free and open to the public. Lunch is provided

** ASU faculty will be on-hand to assist during the “drop-in writing hour” from noon– 1 p.m. You are welcome to bring any written document for review. **
