Description
The wellness foundations concentration is for students interested developing a greater understanding of the behavioral, psychological, social, cultural and environmental factors that impact personal wellness behaviors, healthy lifestyles and disease prevention to assist them in developing enhanced personal wellness. This course of study does not prepare students to pursue national certifications for professional practice in fields of study related to health, fitness and wellness.

Requirements

  • Students must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours including 12 of upper division hours for this concentration.
  • All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” (2.00) or higher.
  • Elective courses must be selected from the approved list of electives available in the School of Nutrition and Health Promotion.
  • M - Course transfer equivalent available from Maricopa County Community College District, details are provided on the Transfer Information tab.

NTR 100 Introductory Nutrition OR NTR 241 Human Nutrition 

Electives - 3 credit hours
Courses must be selected in consultation with an advisor and from the approved list of electives available in the School of Nutrition and Health Promotion.

It is recommended that students select an upper division elective, if a lower division elective is selected, students will be required to enroll in an additional upper division elective from the list in order to complete the required 12 hours of upper division courses.
