Requirements

Description
The health education specialist concentration is based on the Seven Areas of Responsibility, which include competencies and subcompetencies that define the role of the health education specialist. The concentration showcases competency-based skills and provides professionals a competitive edge to employers. Students will gain foundational knowledge in the field of public health education and health promotion, including program planning, implementation, evaluation and management, and other health education specialist competencies. Students will learn about specific health education strategies for effectively delivering community and school-based health education interventions.

This concentration does not meet the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) requirements, and thus does not qualify a student to apply for a Dietetic Internship.
