Parks and Protected Area Management

Description
As the Southwest continues to develop and urbanize, the demands and pressures on public lands and natural resources continues to grow. The interplay between society and natural resources is key to understanding modernity and continues to be at the center of policy issues and quality of life debates in the West. The concentration in parks and protected area management introduces students to the role of parks and protected areas, with a focus on the unique issues faced by urban-proximate natural area managers. The concentration allows students to broaden their educational experiences. Students with such concentrations as business, education, public relations, and many others might find this program a beneficial supplement to their existing program.
